Aria Kalsan is an allegorical framework that illustrates our contemporary global, social, cultural, political, and environmental issues in a futuristic setting. Everything that is happening in our world from famine in Africa to Britney Spear's haircut happens in the universe of Aria Kalsan--except that it happens on a galactic scale instead of a global scale.

 

Not only does Aria Kalsan raise serious questions, but the stories and themes present answers for everyday people living everyday lives. Aria Kalsan chronicles stories about the world, written by the world.

 

Unique storyline...
In the story, when Earth becomes uninhabitable through neglect and carelessness, the wealthy and powerful individuals of the world arrange for an exodus to the Moon space station to start civilization again.

The survivors successfully flee from the horrors of their past and manage to carve out a bleak existence in the immediate solar system. However, when mankind spreads to the center of the galaxy, history repeats itself, as greed and corruption sour humanity once more. Pirate Barons employ thugs to plunder the resources of the entire galaxy. Now, only an enigmatic group, called the Kalsan Alliance, carries a message of hope for the future.

The Kalsan use their advanced technology to bring about the change that is happening in the galaxy and Aria Kalsan is their story--the title literally meaning "the song of the Kalsan."

All of our world leaders, important events, and significant places of our planet have been transformed into this new and exciting universe and are waiting for you to unravel the Mysteries of the Future. From George Bush (Mogul Shrub) to your local mayor, everyone exists in the Aria Kalsan universe. Even you have a place! You can contribute by posting in the Blog or Ariapedia. You can tell your story or create your city to become a part of the Aria Kalsan cannon.

Aria Kalsan was created in 1999, and started as a social networking platform art experiment. The goal was to embrace and appropriate elements of science fiction and history to explore ways to create change in our own world. From the very beginning, Aria Kalsan has been different from almost everything else that has come before.

Unlike other fictional universes, Aria Kalsan is a collaboration through and through. The world is not shaped by a single vision or creator. Everyone can be a part of Aria Kalsan and share their story of change, hope, or balance.

In 2004, the first Aria Kalsan novel was published. Since then, several other publications have been released--with more on the way.

Also unlike many other fictional settings, Aria Kalsan has a diverse audience that spans almost every age group, cultural backgrounds, and gender lines.
