Blood and Thunder take precident on the galactic stage as two powerful Moguls continue to fight for control of Planet Sularas.

Mogul Selava has returned to his native planet after 84 days in exile. Traveling by every means possible—even walking alone on the planet’s hostile surface in a handmade space suit—the Mogul arrived at the Brenoan embassy without major incident. It’s clear he believes this bold action will encourage the Elite Baronies to step in and aid Planet Sularas. Even if this return has done little to bring resolution, one thing is certain. Selava captured the eye of the galactic media for one whole day.

Mogul Macheti's rebel regime has been fighting to stay in power ever since the coup. They have openly used violent means to keep control. Now, the newly installed government has retracted an earlier decree that restricted assembly and freedom of the press for the Sularan people. Apologizing at a press conference yesterday, interim Mogul Macheti acknowledged the policies had gone a step too far. But hours after the decree was reversed, armed police marched into media outlets that supported Mogul Selava and shut them down. The death of two protesters has been reported so far.

Selava is a polarizing character, and has made his fair share of enemies. He has openly opposed aid from Planet Hope believing it to be, perhaps rightly, another form of Kroy control. But Selava has created his fair share of political double-talk and manipulation. Despite his reported far left political beliefs, his government has openly instituted policies that promoted restriction of the media and categorizing of minorities. The main cause for his exile from the planet seems to be centered on his continued attempts to draft his own planetary constitution.

This conflict has already brought a sense of high drama to galactic politics. Mogul Selava, who was violently forced off of Sularas wearing only his pajamas, was news-worthy enough. But after months of lurking in neighboring systems, he re-entered Sularas just seven days ago. His theatrical return also marked the dramatic resumption of the conflict, this time on Selava’s terms. In a masterful stroke, he executed his return just one day before the Elite’s General Assembly. This allowed the Mogul to deftly maximize the amount of exposure the conflict would get in the sphere of galactic politics.
