Pearls Before Swine is one short film with two parts. The first portion of the film introduces Joe Vess and the plight of Mari. The second part covers the aftermath of the Mari Independence Movement.

Part 1: The Drinking Game
A young Kalsan woman, named Yuriko, investigates the murder of Tobias Harper, a despised mining boss, on the desolate but mineral rich planet of Mari. Mining operations must continue at any cost or the galactic economy will be ruined. Pressure mounts, as the military occupies the settlements and the protestors threaten anarchy. Yuriko interrogates Joe Vess, the charismatic leader of the Mari Independence Party, and gets caught up in a struggle to control the destiny of the world. In the process, Yuriko learns more about herself than the miserable conditions of life on the brutal planet.

Part 2: Of Morals and Marbles
Several years later, history repeats itself once again. On the verge of victory, the Mari Independence Party unravels amid tragedy and controversy. Now, with more disappearances and mysteries to solve, Kessa, a new Kalsan assigned to Mari, must investigate the situation.

What's more disturbing is the disappearance and possible death of the Kalsan Yuriko by the same forces that threatened the lives of Harper and Vess.
